Ticos cosechan Oro plata y bronce en individual de Copa Costa Rica

Luego de que la Copa estuvo ausente por casi dos años, el regreso de los ticos al uno de los tres eventos de Para Tenis de Mesa más importante de América los atletas de nuestro país lograron conseguir seis medallas en el evento individual donde, el nivel de los encuentros fue de mucha calidad.

Pese a la ausencia de algunas potencias como Brasil, Argentina entre otros el nivel mostrado por cada competidor fue bastante grande, donde los pocos eventos hicieron que el trabajo previo durante la pandemia le sirviera para que muchos mejoraran en sus puntos más vulnerables.

 

Ese trabajo mencionado fue el que le dio la presea de oro al costarricense Steven Román Chinchilla luego que en la final masculina de la categoría SM 8 lograra derrotar al estadounidense Marco Makkar, con el marcador de tres sets por uno 11-3/11-4/9-11/11-3.

 

El podio de la categoría SM1-3 tendría dos ticos de protagonistas Geovanny Rodríguez que cayó en la final ante Vicente Leiva de Chile tres sets por cero, y el otro atleta presente en la categoría fue Emanuel Céspedes que se quedó con uno de los dos bronces entregados.

 

Cerraron la obtención de las medallas de bronce por parte de Aneth Araya Álvarez    en la clase WS 8-10 también obtuvieron la medalla por el tercer lugar Nixon Reyes en la categoría de la SM9 y José Quesada Rojas SM10.

 

Con el punto final del evento individual durante la mañana del sábado los tenismesistas se prepararon para comenzar en el evento de dobles que podremos ver el debut de la pareja femenina de Costa Rica entre Aneth Araya y Karina Ugalde en WT8-10
