Luego de las ausencias en el 2020 y 2021, desde este viernes 8 y hasta el lunes 11 de abril se estará llevando a cabo la XI Copa Chorotega Fecoda 2022 en la piscina del Polideportivo de Nicoya, un evento en donde los nadadores buscarán mejorar sus tiempos personales de competencia.
El certamen contará con la presencia de 30 equipos, representados en 480 nadadores de las categorías Infantil A (9-10 años), Infantil B (11-12 años), Juvenil A (13-14 años), Juvenil B (15-17 años) y Mayor (18 años y más) que se encuentren federados al 1 de marzo del 2022.
Cada atleta participará en máximo dos pruebas individuales por sesión, donde se premiará con medalla de oro al primer lugar, medalla de plata al segundo lugar y medalla de bronce al tercer lugar en cada evento y categoría.
Sobre el evento, el entrenador de la Asociación de Natación de Nicoya Diego Fajardo destacó que es importante volver a realizar un evento en el cantón guanacasteco, ya que las condiciones del lugar se prestan para superar los objetivos de los nadadores
“Es una gran bendición poder realizar la Copa Chorotega, un torneo que por más de 10 años hemos organizado en Nicoya que realmente ha llenado las expectativas, no solo deportivas, sino en la parte de logística. Es importante mencionar que la piscina es rápida, ya que las condiciones a nivel del mar y climatológicas ayudan un poco a que los nadadores puedan llegar con algún objetivo o marca a nivel nacional o internacional. La pandemia ha venido a hacer este parón y ahora regresar a este primer torneo fuera del Área Metropolitana es importante” mencionó Fajardo
Las competencias en Nicoya iniciarán este viernes, sábado y domingo a las 5:00 p.m, mientras que el lunes empezarán las acciones en el agua a las 8:30 am.
Este torneo es organizado por la Federación Costarricense de Deportes Acuáticos (Fecoda), con el aval del Instituto Costarricense del Deporte y la Recreación (Icoder).
