(Auckland, Nueva Zelanda) A nueve meses para que ruede el balón en la Copa Mundial Femenina Australia-Nueva Zelanda, el torneo empezará a tomar forma a partir de este sábado 22 de octubre cuando se lleve a cabo el sorteo mundialista.
El gran evento organizado por la FIFA tendrá lugar en Auckland, la capital de Nueva Zelanda, específicamente en el Aotea Centre a las 12:30 a.m. (hora de Costa Rica). En nuestro país se podrá seguir por la aplicación FIFA+.
El combinado nacional estará ubicado en el bombo 3. Ahí también estarán las selecciones de Dinamarca, Suiza, Irlanda, Colombia, Argentina, Vietnam y Jamaica. Los equipos fueron ubicados según el último ranking femenino de la FIFA, publicado el pasado 13 de octubre.
Por su parte, el bombo uno estará conformado por las anfitrionas Australia y Nueva Zelanda, además de las seis selecciones que encabezan el ranking: Estados Unidos, Suecia, Alemania, Inglaterra, Francia y España.
En el bombo tres aparecen Canadá, Países Bajos, Brasil, Japón, Noruega, Italia, República de China y República de Corea. Mientras que cierran el bombo cuatro Nigeria, Filipinas, Sudáfrica, Marruecos, Zambia y los 3 ganadores de los play-offs continentales que se jugarán en febrero del 2023.
La Federación Costarricense de Fútbol estará representada por una delegación que incluye al presidente Rodolfo Villalobos, la entrenadora Amelia Valverde, el director administrativo de selecciones, Diego Brenes y la encargada de prensa del equipo femenino Graciela Fonseca.
Después del sorteo se realizará la inspección de sedes de entrenamiento, estadios, hoteles, transporte y logística. Y además se atenderán talleres de FIFA sobre temas de logística, comunicación y la parte deportiva.
Costa Rica confirmó la semana pasada dos fogueos en suelo europeo para la Selección Femenina: el 11 de noviembre ante Países Bajos en Utrecht y el 15 ante Portugal en Lisboa.
