Este domingo cayó el telón de la Copa Nacional MTB en Juan Viñas

Con dos días de mucha acción y bajo un fuerte sol en Juan Viñas, Cartago, la temporada 2022 de la Copa Nacional MTB llegó a su fin este domingo tras culminar la quinta fecha de la competencia de ciclismo de montaña más importante del país.

Las acciones iniciaron el sábado, como ya es usual con la prueba de short track, en la cual Milagro Mena (femenino) y Andrey Fonseca (masculino) obtuvieron la primera posición en la rama élite.

Para el domingo estaba planificada la prueba de XCO, iniciando a las 7 a.m. con los competidores open y se extendió hasta eso de las 2:30 p.m. cuando los corredores élite culminaron con las acciones. 

Mena repitió con triunfo en el día, sin embargo, a nivel general la ganadora de la Copa fue la experimentada Adriana Rojas, mientras que en masculino Jonathan Quesada conquistó la general en este 2022.

“La Copa fue de cinco fechas este año, fue complicado porque este 2022 estamos retomando por la pandemia, pero hemos cumplido con los objetivos que nos planteamos desde la Junta Directiva, preparamos a los ciclistas para los centroamericanos que serán en Honduras en 15 días”, afirmó el presidente de la Asociación Nacional de Ciclismo de Montaña, Omar Vargas.

Un detalle particular es que gran cantidad de niños se hicieron presentes a la Copa Kids este domingo en Juan Viñas Bike Park.

Esta competencia fue la última previa al Campeonato Centroamericano que tendrá desarrollo el 12 y 13 de noviembre en Honduras.
