Tenimesistas ticos logran boleto a Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe

Las selecciones mayores de Tenis de Mesa femenina y masculina de Costa Rica alcanzaron este fin de semana el boleto a los Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe San Salvador 2023, en el marco de la eliminatoria por el área del Centroamérica y el Caribe que se realizó en Georgetown, capital de la República de Guyana.

Los ticos se dieron de tu a tu ante las representaciones caribeñas: Santa Lucía, Trinidad y Tobago y Guyana que mostraron un gran crecimiento en su desarrollo, unido al gran nivel ya conocido de Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y Guatemala.

Las damas se ubicaron entre las 5 primeras del torneo, mientras que los varones lograron llegar a la semifinal donde perdieron ante los venezonalos, campeónes del clasificatorio.

La selecciones de Costa Rica estuvieron conformadas por: Sofía Pérez Guardiola, Victoria Castro Salas y Angie Araya Lescouflair. En varones los seleccionados fueron: Daniel Araya Aguilar, Allan Calvo García y Jeison Martínez Retana. El entrenador es Luis Basurto.

Ahora los ticos enfocan su mirada al próximo Campeoanto Centroamericano de Tenis de Mesa que se realizará en abril y servirá como fogueo a las justas regionales en San Salvador.

La presencia de los ticos en las eliminatorias en Guyana fue gracias al apoyo del Comité Olímpico Nacional (CONCR).
