¡Medalla de Oro! Gabriel Rojas conquista la prueba de ruta en los Panamericanos de Cali

El ciclista costarricense Gabriel Rojas conquistó este viernes la prueba de ruta en los Juegos Panamericanos Junior de Cali 2021 y se dejó la primera medalla de oro para Costa Rica en estas competencias.

El tiempo de Rojas fue de 3h 07:49.90, seguido por el ecuatoriano Harold Martin y el colombiano German Dario Gómez.

“Estamos súper contentos, este fue un gran trabajo en equipo junto a mi compañero John Jiménez, aquí demostramos que podemos competir a pesar de ser minoría, esto va dedicado a la Federación y al Comité Olímpico Nacional que nos han apoyado en todo”, afirmó Rojas.

La noticia de la medalla fue muy bien recibida por la Junta Directiva de la Federación Costarricense de Ciclismo, desde donde externaron su felicitación tanto a Gabriel como a John por el trabajo realizado.

“Nos gustaría felicitar a Gabriel, John y al cuerpo técnico por su excelente trabajo, así como también a su equipo el 7C Economy – CBZ ASFALTOS – Lacoinex, quienes han sido pieza fundamental en este triunfo, esto es un hecho histórico para el país, esta medalla nos reafirma que en Costa Rica existen jóvenes ciclistas que tienen el material para llegar muy lejos, logros como estos nos hacen redoblar esfuerzos con el fin de continuar realizando los cambios necesarios para ordenar y modernizar el proceso de Selecciones Nacionales y continuar buscando fuentes alternas de financiamiento para que estos jóvenes tengan acceso a mayor cantidad y calidad de fogueos”, aseguró Marco Taylor, encargado del proceso de selecciones.

De esta manera se concluyen los Juegos Panamericanos Junior de Cali en el ciclismo, donde el país también tuvo a sus representes en pista, montaña y BMX, días atrás.
