El Polideportivo de San Francisco de Dos Ríos será este domingo testigo de los primeros campeones del año en el balonmano costarricense cuando se juegue la final masculina y femenina del tradicional Torneo de Copa Herman Brunner.
En la rama femenina, a las 2 pm, se enfrentarán Cartago ante Desamparados y a las 4 pm les llegará el turno a los varones, Turrialba vs Liberia.
Tanto las desamparadeñas como los turrialbeños buscarán ir por el bicampeonato de Copa, sin embargo, sus rivales, brumosas y liberianos, respectivamente, pretenden dar una sorpresa y ser un hueso duro de roer.
Las dos finales son de pronóstico reservado, ya que estos equipos en la fase regular fueron muy parejos, por lo que se esperan juegos de alta exigencia, de mucho roce físico y emociones en los marcos.
“Es una final que hemos estado buscando, es como el regreso del balonmano de Cartago a estas instancias, no ha sido fácil, pero el equipo se encuentra muy motivado”, dijo la jugadora brumosa Nicole Solís.
“Será un buen juego en un escenario que se presta para la práctica del balonmano, lo que sucedió en la fase regular quedó atrás, las finales se juegan diferente”, afirmó el jugador y capitán de Turrialba, Rodrigo Molina.
“Prometemos darlo todo, pero sabemos que será una final cerrada, somos un equipo muy aguerrido”, indicó Óscar Saborío, jugador de Liberia.
En las semifinales en femenino Cartago eliminó a Santo Domingo y Desamparados a UNA MTS Heredia mientras que en masculino Liberia a MTS Heredia y Turrialba a Desamparados.
