Martes 07 de junio 2022: La representación de Para Tenis de Mesa de Costa Rica que desde pasado domingo se encuentra en tierras aztecas, logró sus primeras dos medallas en el Evento Individual con motivo del inicio de la Copa Cristina Hoffmann que se realiza año con año en el estado de Acapulco, México.
El primer en ver acción fue el Campeón Panamericano Clase 8, el sancarleño Steven Román Chinchilla quien enfrentó a Allen Marrison de Canadá al que derrotó 3-0, seguidamente derrotó a Daniel Marrison de EE.UU. 3-0 tras clasificar primero de grupo logró pasar por bye a las semifinales, ahí derrotó 3-0 a Joseph Ryan Henry de Gran Brentaña con lo que aseguró la medalla de plata.
La otra semifinal fue ganada por el tailandés Phisit Wanphonphathanasiri quien derrotó 3-0 a Paul Polo de Ecuador y se impuso en la final ante el costarricense Román 3-0 con parciales 11-7/ 11-04 / 11-6 por lo que el Oro fue para el tailandés y la plata para el tico.
Por otra parte, Aneth Araya Álvarez también Clase 8 alcanzó la medalla de bronce, la costarricense inició el pasado lunes su participación ante la representante de Chile, ante Florencia Pérez con la que cayó con marcador de 1-3, luego se midió ante Claudia Pérez Villalba de México a la que derrotó con marcador de 3-0.
Este martes Araya Álvarez logró su segunda victoria ante Guadalupe Cruz Montano 3-0 y cayó ante Kelly Van Zon de Países Bajos (Holanda) con la que alcanzó la medalla de bronce.

She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit
crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
