Jueves 08 de junio 2022: La pareja de Para Tenimesistas costarricenses la espartana Aneth Araya Alvares y el sancarleño Steven Román Chinchilla cerraron de gran forma su participación en el Copa Cristina Hoffmann de Para Tenis de Mesa que se realizó del 6 al 8 de junio en Acapulco, México.
Este miércoles Aneth Araya Álvarez quien en el Evento de Dobles Femenino hizo pareja con Claudia Pérez Villalba de México logró alcanzar la medalla de Plata y en el Evento Mixto hizo pareja con Steven Román con el que gano la medalla de Bronce.
Detalle de la conquista de las medallas de este miércoles.
La pareja de costarricenses enfrentó primero el Evento Mixto en donde había siete parejas que fueron distribuidas en dos grupos, uno de cuatro y otros de tres, el Grupo 1 estuvo conformado por Colombia, Chile y México A y el Grupo 2 por México B, Chile, México C y Costa Rica.
Los ticos se enfrentaron a la dupla representada por Enrique Peraza y Edith Zapata de México B a los que derrotaron con marcador de 3-0, luego Araya y Román enfrentaron a Martín Morales Hernández y Brissa Hernández Escobar de México C a los que también derrotaron 3-0 y cayeron ante la pareja conformada por Francisco Puerto Álvarez y Jessica Alzate Mejía de Colombia con marcador 0-3 esto por la fase de Grupos.
Ya por las semifinales donde clasificaron Colombia, junto a dos parejas de Chile y Costa Rica los nacionales volvieron a medirse ante la pareja colombiana con la que cayeron de nuevo esta vez con marcador de 1-3 y se quedaron con la medalla de bronce, la pareja de colombianos se alzó con el Oro y la dupla de Chile se quedó con la medalla de Plata.
Ya en el Evento de Parejas Femenino estuvo conformado por solo un grupo integrado por Chile, México A, México B y la pareja combinada entre Costa Rica y México.
La dupla conformada por la costarricense Aneth Araya y la mexicana Claudia Pérez Villalba cayeron 1-3 ante Jeanelly Gongora y Brissa Hernández Escobar de México, luego Araya y Pérez se midieron a Guadalupe Montano y Edith Zapata a las que derrotaron con marcador de 3-0 y cerraron su participación por lo que Chile se adueñó de la medalla de Oro, Costa Rica/ México con la plata y las mexicanas se quedaron con los terceros lugares y por ende las medallas de Bronce.
Finalmente el pasado martes Steven Román Alcanzó la medalla de plata en el Evento Individual y Aneth Araya Álvarez la medalla de Bronce
Así las cosas, la delegación tica regresa al país con la conquista de cuatro medallas dos de Plata y dos de Bronce, también participaron los para tenimesistas Sebastián Chaves Quirós, Hernán Rojas, Anette Araya Álvarez, José Andrés Vargas y Nixon Reyes.
