La preselección sigue preparándose para estar en la próxima cita de los Juegos Centroamericanos 2022 en el cual los nuestros serán casa en la disciplina del béisbol y en el día de ayer con un gran ambiente en las tribunas, La Nacional enfrentó a un seleccionado de jugadores venezolanos residentes en el país con experiencia en el béisbol amateur y profesional.
Ambas novenas chocaron una jornada doble pautada a siete innings, siendo esta una petición de la preselección de Costa Rica para continuar con su proceso de preparación, ya que el grande grupo de jugadores siguen buscando un cupo para el róster final de los centroamericanos.
El cuerpo técnico costarricense encabezado por Mauricio Alpizar observó muy de cerca la actuación de cada uno de sus peloteros, teniendo en cuenta el compromiso, rendimiento, aspecto físico y otros elementos para decidir, quienes será nuestros representantes.
“Iremos con limitaciones de innings, o lanzamientos con nuestros pitcher ya que queremos que todos puedan enfrentar bateadores, esta en la mejor manera de que los brazos seleccionados estén listos para este gran compromiso”. Declaró el mánager Mauricio Alpizar antes del inicio de los juegos.
Con respecto a los jugadores posición el timonel se expresó muy optimista con el grupo de peloteros.
“Tenemos mucha profundidad, juventud y veteranía en lineup, la idea es explotar lo mejor de cada uno de ellos. Es importante amalgamar todas las áreas, y el cuerpo técnico sigue trabajando para eso”. Afirmó Alpizar, quien cree en todo el grupo de trabajo.

En esa jornada doble antes los venezolanos, lució un nuevo brazo derecho para la selección nacional, se trata de Mauricio Guardián, quien se vio muy bien en sus pitcheos y con una gran disposición para estar en la lomita.
Este lanzador quien hizo la transición desde la receptoría fue monitoreado por el cuerpo técnico, y en el día de ayer recibió su primera oportunidad. El derecho tiene un físico bastante bueno debido a su altura, además de mostrar gran velocidad en sus lanzamientos y con una virtud muy importante a pesar de su juventud, trabajar a la mayoría de sus rivales en la esquina interna del homeplate.

La Nacional ya piensa en su próximo duelo internacional a realizarse entre el 18 y 23 de agosto en el Parque de Pelota Antonio Escarré de San José, en el cual se enfrentará al equipo mayor de Chile, quien actualmente son una selección con mucha proyección y que se está preparando para ser casa de los Juegos Panamericanos 2023 que de efectuarán en la ciudad de Santiago.
El fogueo internacional servirá para dejar casi lista la selección de Costa Rica camino a los centroamericanos.
