En un maravilloso juego de pelota escenificado en el Polideportivo Monserrat de Alajuela, CODEA derrotó al actual campeón de la Categoría U23 la novena de Mingo Snacks, en el primero juego de la final (pautada al mejor de tres compromisos) con marcador de 10 carreas por cero.
El pitcheo fue el protagonista por espacio de cinco entradas (juego a 7 innings), en el cual Alejandro Marín nuevamente sacó su talento para dominar a la toletería alajuelense, quienes no pudieron descifrar a Marín por segunda vez en el mes.
El diestro fue asignado por el mánager Hugo Acevedo para abrir la final ante CODEA debido a su ultima apertura ante sus rivales de turno, y realmente fue una buena decisión, ya que durante cuatro innings se vio muy bien mezclado sus pitcheos y sacando de paso a los bateadores.
Por otra parte, Kendall González, sacó su estampa de seleccionado nacional al trabajar por espacio de cinco entradas completas las cuales no permitió carreras, esto siendo suficiente para que se llevara el triunfo y fuera parte fundamental de la novena alajuelense.
Como todo juego de béisbol cerrado, los detalles definieron el encuentro, con una ofensiva maniatada el mánager José Urróz despertó a sus dirigidos mandando un squezee play suicida en la parte final del quinto inning que fue bien ejecutado por Domingo Álvarez Jr, quien prendió la fiesta y en caminó a sus compañeros al triunfo.
Quizás por el marcado se podría pensar que fue un dominio total de CODEA, pero en realidad es engañoso lo que refleja, todas las anotaciones del juego llegaron en el quinto y sexto inning, que si hacemos un paralelismo y lo llevamos a un juego de nueve entradas se produjeron en los innings siete y ocho, dejando claro que el juego fue disputado.
El próximo martes 26 de julio Mingo Snacks buscará defender su casa el Polideportivo de Santo Domingo y forzar el tercer duelo decisivo de la gran final, que sería en el coso de Monserrat en Alajuela.
