La Selección Nacional Masculina Sub21 de Voleibol se encuentra en Managua, Nicaragua, para disputar a partir del miércoles 19 de octubre de 2022 el XIX Campeonato Centroamericano.
Los dirigidos por Alberto Blanco, han venido trabajando desde hace varios meses en pro de dar su mayor esfuerzo y posesionarse en el podio del torneo.
“Es un torneo que tomamos con mucha seriedad, nos hemos preparado a conciencia, sabemos que no será fácil, los equipos se habían preparado fuerte, mejor que en años anteriores, especialmente Nicaragua que viene de una Copa Panamericana en Cuba, y aunque todos los equipos son difíciles, sabemos que Nicaragua es el rival a vencer”., destacó Alberto Blanco, entrenador de la selección. 
Los jugadores se encuentran motivados tras los triunfos en los últimos torneos de las selecciones tan femeninas como masculinas y esperan ellos también colocarse en podio.
«Hemos logrado integrar un equipo muy unido y vamos con todas las expectativas para este torneo», mencionó Juan Ignacio Calderón Chanto, sub capitán y armador de la selección
Ronald Montoya, opuesto de la selección Sub 21, también destaca el objetivo que como equipo tiene para este torneo: «Uno de nuestros objetivos es dar lo mejor de nosotros en el campeonato y si se puede ser campeones», dijo
Hace menos de un mes, el central Jeremy Vanega Romero se coronaba Campeón Centroamericano con la Selección Sub 19 y además recibía el premio como Mejor bloqueador del torneo, esta experiencia espera transmitirla en este centroamericano sub21.
«Vengo de la sub 19 y con la experiencia que tuve en el Centroamericano en Honduras donde salimos campeones, para mi fue muy valiosa, gané el primer mejor bloqueo, me siento más esforzado y en este centroamericano espero lograr un premio en especial y esta experiencia será muy diferente a la de hace poco en Honduras», comentó Vanega Romero.
Las posiciones de la edición pasada fueron: 1. Nicaragua; 2. Panamá; 3. El Salvador; 4. Guatemala; 5. Costa Rica; 6. Honduras; 7. Belice.

19 de octubre: Costa Rica vs Guatemala, 6pm
20 octubre: Costa Rica vs Honduras, 4:00pm
21 octubre: Costa Rica vs Belice, 2pm
22 octubre: Costa Rica vs Nicaragua, 6:00pm
23 octubre: Costa Rica vs Panamá, 4:00pm
24 octubre: Costa Rica vs El Salvador, 2:00pm
