Arranca el mes de octubre y la Selección Femenina ya piensa en su próximo reto: los Juegos Panamericanos Santiago 2023 en Chile.
El equipo patrio logró estar en estas justas gracias a su cuarto puesto en el Campeonato Premundial del año pasado en México.
Estarán ubicadas en el grupo B junto a los combinados de Estados Unidos, Venezuela y Argentina y arrancarán participación el domingo 22 de octubre precisamente ante la albiceleste.
El técnico Beni Rubido y su staff ya trabajan desde hace unos días en depurar la lista de convocadas para estos juegos, donde hace cuatro años en Lima, Perú, la Tricolor ganó la medalla de bronce.
Los Panamericanos tienen varios detalles. Lo primero es que no se podrá contar con legionarias porque el torneo dura más que la ventana FIFA internacional y además solo se podrán convocar 18 jugadoras.
“Por eso debemos ser conscientes que necesitamos jugadoras que puedan competir con cuatro partidos en 12 días y creo que eso va a ser un condicionante importante”, dijo el nuevo entrenador.
Sobre los rivales, señaló que ya el cuerpo técnico viene viendo videos de ellos. Es importante señalar que independientemente de si el equipo se mete o no dentro de los dos primeros lugares del grupo (que clasifican a semifinales), jugarán un cuarto partido ante un rival del grupo A.
“La idea es que el equipo maneje un par de registros, no solo uno porque la competencia nos demandará diferentes comportamientos colectivos, pero vamos a aprovechar lo que se ha hecho antes, crecer desde ahí, darle nuestro toque, pero entendiendo que solo tendremos unos 7-8 entrenamientos antes de jugar y que a la Selección le faltará mucho por crecer”, comentó.
La Tricolor jugará primero ante Argentina el 22 de octubre, tres días más tarde se topará con Estados Unidos y cerrará la fase de grupos contra Venezuela el 28 de octubre.
