Costa Rica arrancó la disputa en los eventos de Dobles de los JCC-ESA 2023

El Tenis de Mesa de Costa Rica cerró su participación en el cuarto día de competencias con la frente muy en alto, en una jornada de mucho desgaste, en donde los tenimesistas tenían que enfrentar los 32vos de Final del evento individual e iniciar el Evento de Dobles Mixto, todos aportaron lo mejor de sí, pero, al final no les alcanzó para que alguna de las dos parejas lograra pasar a la segunda ronda en el Dobles Mixto.

 

Los primeros en ir a escena luego de su participación en el evento individual fue la pareja conformada por Lucía Zavaleta Ovares y Daniel Araya Aguilar que enfrentaron a Venezuela una de las potencias del tenis de mesa.

 

Araya y Zavaleta protagonizaron un gran duelo ante Mriangel Díaz y Raymundo Medina en juego que estuvo muy parejo y que lo llevó a jugarse a cinco sets para definir el clasificado a los cuartos de final, los venezolanos derrotaron a los ticos con marcador de 2-3 (11-3, 5-11, 4-11, 11-8 y 3-11).

 

Luego la pareja conformada por Sofía Pérez Guardiola y Alejandro Montoya Morera cayeron 0-3 con parciales (7-11, 8-11 y 6-11) ante la pareja conformada por Rhean Chung y Derron Douglas de Trinidad y Tobago.

 

Recuento del individual

 

Previamente en el evento individual el tenimesista Daniel Araya Aguilar logró clasificarse a los 8vos de final tras derrotar 4-2 a Derron Douglas de Trinidad y Tobago con parciales de (5-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-5, 8-11 y 11-9), este lunes 26 de junio buscará el pase a los cuartos de final ante Ángel Naranjo de Puerto Rico, uno de los favoritos al estar en el podio.

 

También Jeison Martínez Retana en su intento de llegar a los octavos de final cayó 0-4 (5-11, 5-11, 6-11, y 6-11) ante Jorge Campos de Cuba otro de los favoritos a llegar al podio y Victoria Castro Salas cayó también con marcador de 0-4 (2-11, 6-11, 12-14 y 5-11) ante Mónica Serrano de México, ambos (Martínez y Castro) se despidieron del Evento Individual.

 

Este domingo se jugará el Evento de Dobles en Masculino y Femenino Sofía Pérez Guardiola y Lucía Zavaleta Ovares enfrentarán la dupla de Guatemala conformada por Lucía Cordero y Mabelyn Enriquez y en varones Alejandro Montoya Morera y Daniel Aguilar se medirán ante Genaro Roustan y Denilson Castellón de Nicaragua, ambas en busca del pase a los cuartos de final.
