Este viernes en el Gimnasio del Complejo Deportivo el Polvorín, ubicado en la capital de San Salvador, sede del deporte del tenis de mesa de los Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe, El Salvador 2023, dejó resultados muy positivos para los ticos, luego de que tres de sus seis representantes lograron pasar a los 32vos de final en el evento individual a jugarse este sábado.
El inicio de la tercera jornada de este viernes, trajo la definición de los ganadores del podio en el Evento por Equipos, En femenino el Oro fue para Cuba tras derrotar en la final 3-1 a Puerto Rico, quien por ende se quedó con la medalla de plata y los terceros lugares fueron para México y República Dominicana.
En varones el Oro fue para Puerto Rico luego de derrotar 3- 1 a Cuba en la final y que a la vez se quedó con la presea de plata, el Bronce fue para Venezuela y Guatemala.
Para la tarde, el seleccionado Daniel Araya Aguilar se impuso en el inicio del Evento Individual, con marcador de 4-2 (11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 6-11 y 11-8) a Rafael Neposiano Monteiro de Haití que le permite pasar a los 32vos de final donde enfrentará a Derron Douglas de Trinidad y Tobago el día sábado.
Por su parte Alejandro Montoya Moreira cayó 2-4 (9-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 7-11, 9-11) ante Jonathan Van Lange de Guyana y se despidió del Evento Individual de las justas, Jeison Martínez Retana quien logró el pase por Bye enfrentará este sábado a Jorge Campos de Cuba.
En damas, Sofía Pérez Guardiola mostró su crecimiento al protagonizar un juego de poder a poder, ante una de las anfitrionas, Cecilia Orantes de El Salvador, la costarricense se repuso con gran carácter de un marcador adverso de 3-0 y estuvo a punto de dar la sorpresa al final, con un cuarto set de dientes apretados Orantes logró sacar la victoria con un 4-3 (11-6, 12-10, 11-9, 8-11, 9-11, 7-11 y 11-9).
En el caso de Lucía Zavaleta Ovares cayó con marcador de 4-1 (13-11, 11-8, 11-7, 2-11 y 12-10) ante Emme Arias de El Salvador y se despidió del Evento Individual, en el caso de Victoria Castro Salas logró pasar a los 32avos de final por Bye y está lista para enfrentar a muerte Mónica Serrano de México.
Para este sábado por la tarde noche iniciarán los Evento de Dobles Mixto en donde los ticos regresan a la acción y en donde irán en busca de los mejores lugares.
La Selección de Costa Rica está es representada por los siguientes integrantes de izquierda a derecha la profesora Mercedes Valenzuela Brenes delegada y asistente técnico, los tenimesistas Daniel Araya Aguilar, Alejandro Montoya Morera, Jeison Martínez Retana, el entrenador en jefe Luis Basurto, las atletas Sofia Pérez Guardiola, Victoria Castro Salas y Lucía Zavaleta Ovares.
En el campo arbitral Costa Rica está representada por el árbitro Internacional IU Phillips Núñez Berrocal y por el árbitro Internacional Blue Bagde Esteban Maroto Coto.
