Goleando a Trinidad & Tobago con marcador de 0-4 La Sele Mayor Femenina quedó con pie y medio adentro de lo que podrá ser la segunda clasificación histórica a una Copa Mundial de la FIFA, Australia y Nueva Zelanda 2023.
Con frialdad, dominio de las acciones y total autoridad la Selección de Costa Rica se impuso ante las trinitenses en un duelo de una única cara, donde las nacionales supieron manejar los hilos del partido para, no solo sacar la victoria, sino que darle tintes de goleada para acercarse con contundencia al boleto mundialista.
La fiesta de goles empezó al minuto 18’, explotando la fortaleza de la Tricolor como lo ha sido la táctica fija, cuando a Cristín Granados le llegó un centro desde un saque de esquina y no la pensó mucho para dejar el balón en el fondo de las redes.
Las caribeñas, estando acorraladas en su área por la presión de las ticas, comenzaron a caer en faltas por juego brusco, de ahí que Kedie Johnson vio la roja tras una fuerte entrada sobre Katherine Alvarado, dejando a su equipo diezmado.
El segundo tanto llegó al 33’, tras un saque de esquina de Cristín Granados y que la defensora Lauryn Hutchinson trató de despejar pero que terminó dentro de su propia portería, dándole el 0-2 para Costa Rica.
El 0-3 llegó sobre el cierre de la parte inicial (al 45’) en jugada por la banda derecha de Melissa Herra quien centró para María Paula Salas, esta lo pasó a Cristín y tras intentarlo una vez le vuelve a dar al balón para sumar el tercero.
Para el complemento la historia no varió mucho. Costa Rica siguió con su fútbol ofensivo, sin entrar en el conformismo y la relajación para mantener su sed de gol y aumentar el marcador, de ahí que el cuarto y definitivo tanto cayó al 48’ con un golazo de una de las capitanas, Katherine Alvarado.
Al 62’ se dio un homenaje histórico, con el ingreso de la legendaria y capitana Shirley Cruz al terreno de juego, llegando a sumar su partido 100 clase A con la Tricolor.
El resto del juego fue de constantes llegadas de las nacionales, con remates dentro y fuera del área, pero que no le dieron variante al marcador final.
Ahora las dirigidas por Amelia Valverde quedan con pie y medio en el Mundial, debido a que deberán esperar el juego entre Canadá y Panamá (a disputarse hoy mismo a las 8 p.m.) y de salir las canadienses victoriosas o con un empate automáticamente Costa Rica clasifica a la Copa Mundial de la FIFA, Australia y Nueva Zelanda 2023.
El próximo juego de La Sele será el lunes 11 de julio, cuando cierren la fase de grupos ante Canadá, a las 5 p.m. (hora tica)
